Task 4: What do I believe in?

Living in North America, freedom of expression is a concept that is detrimental to our rights, and something that is collectively agreed upon in the constitution. The issue then arises on the limits of that expression and where and when the lines need to be drawn. A place where this often becomes a controversy is in school environments on the topic of dress codes; the extent to which they should be enforced or whether they should be there at all. In my opinion, dress codes are essential to school environments and come with many benefits.      Although schools are meant to be learning environments, for many students the very thought of that setting can be stressful due to the pressure to “fit in” or be “popular”. A sad reality that we have to face today is that a lot of this “popularity” comes from appearance whether it is having the right kind of curves or the right kind of muscles. Body shaming is a very real issue that both boys and girls face in school today which not onl

Task 3: Who am I?

Task 1: Where do I Live?

“ Where do I live?” The answer to this question makes a significant impact on every individual and for me that answer is Mississauga: the 6 th largest city in Canada and 3 rd in Ontario. Making up one of the three cities of the Peel region, Mississauga is one of the most diverse cities I have seen, and these are not simply my words. There are statistics to prove it. More than half of Peel’s population are visible minorities making it the highest proportion in the GTA at 56.8%. It is a constantly growing community both population wise and commercially bringing its own benefits and challenges to the table.      The community of Mississauga has not changed too much since 2011, but a significant point to highlight is the population count. The population of this city has always been on the rise, and 2016 is not different. The population most certainly increased, but it is the parentage by what it did that is noteworthy. In the last five years, the population only increased by 1.1

Task 2: What has influenced me?

What has influenced me? This is a broad question, and one which is difficult to narrow down as the responses can be endless, but as an attempt I can narrow down this topic in five different areas: food, fashion, architecture, leisure activities, and entertainment.      Food is an essential part of every person’s life, yes, an obvious statement, but the way an individual fulfills this necessity varies drastically between different cultures and ethnicities. Think about all the different kinds of flavours, vegetables, meats, and fruits there are in the world; some which we have never heard of and others which consist in our daily diet simply because that is what we were exposed to; that is what we are influenced by. Being born and raised in Canada, my food preferences highly match that of the society I have grown up in, and that society is very diverse. I love the flavours of Italian while I can still bare the heat of Mexican, and enjoy the simplicity of basic meals which are “we
